A field experiment was carried out in the years 2006–2008. The experiment was designed as a two-factors randomized block design with three replication. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of various cultivation measures and organic fertilization on weed infestation status and maize grain yield. Weed fresh and dry weight and grain yield were determined. During the experimental years, the weather conditions significantly affected the degree of weed infestation in maize. A greater infestation was revealed in less favourable season of 2006. The best effectiveness in weed controlling and the highest grain yield were recorded in objects with the herbicide Atranex 500 SC. The lower weed infestation was recorded in objects fertilized with blue phacelia.
