The article presents a research carried out at the Institute of Spatial Management and Housing (currently the National Institute for Spatial Policy and Housing), which involved identification and assessment of tree planting sites in the Warsaw district of Praga Północ as well as elaboration of a tree planting design process. The analysis led to the conclusion that spontaneous tree planting activities often take place without a full design process, which makes them incorrect. Next, possibilities of using design processes and other principles to develop a design process for tree planting actions were examined. In the final, summarizing part, a proposal for the tree planting design process was presented.
