It is the task of higher education institutions teachers of Physical Education to equip students with competencies, which make them able to introduce their pupils to values propagated by physical culture. A students completing an undergraduate course of study of Physical Education should possess theoretical knowledge and practical skills that make him/her capable of effective implementation of the process of Physical Education. A contemporary teacher should e both, a tutor and a community worker. This is why it is necessary to prepare him/her to perform educational and community work. The purpose of this report is showing the ability of students completing undergraduate studies in Physical Education to take up work as teachers of Physical Education. It was an attempt to answer questions, like: how do the undergraduates assess their theoretical knowledge in the field of physical culture; what practical skills to have in the process of physical education and what is their preparation for educational and community work.
