The article discusses management methods used in selected enterprises of the Małopolskie and Śląskie Provinces. Presented types of managing differ from their approach of the management to executive personnel. The work determines the dominating style, either autocratic or the one which allows for full utilisation of the subordinates' skills. A variety of approaches and characteristics of the managed and management determine a specific type of superior — subordinate relationships, which can be named owing to existing theories of management. However, these will not account for all possibilities of shaping these relationships.
