W roku 1994 prowadzono badania nad wzrostem i rozwojem czterech gatunków roślin (ślazowca pensylwańskiego, topinamburu, wikliny i ligustra) w warukach laguny osadowej oczyszczalni ścieków w Hajdowie i glebie mineralnej GD Felin koto Lublina. Sztobry ligustra i wikliny zaschły po kilku miesiącach od wysadzenia. Rozwój topinamburu byt ograniczony do jednego okresu wegetacyjnego. Ślazowiec pensylwański rosnący w lagunie zawierał znacznie więcej Cd i Co w liściach oraz Ni i Cd w łodygach niż rosnący w glebie mineralnej.

In 1994 there were carried out the studies on the growth and development of four plant species (sida - Sida hermaphrodita Rusby, Jarusalem artichoke - Helianthus tuberosas L., osier - Salix viminalis L. and common privet - Ligustrum vulgare L.) on sedimental lagoon of sewage plant in Hajdów as well as on the mineral soil of the Experimental Field Felin near Lublin. The seedlings of common privet and osier were not rooted. The Jarusalem artichoke development was reduced to one vegetative period, while in case of sida normal growth and development was observed in the second year, too. Jarusalem artichoke plants took much more Co, Mn, Cd, Cu, Ni, and Zn from sewage sediment from mineral soil. Sida from sewage sediments contained much more Cd and Co in leaves as well as Ni and Cd in stalks than the one from the soil.
