The aim of the work has been to evaluate the effect of early separation of the coypus offspring from their mothers on their further growth. a/ Shortly after the separation of four weeks old coyput from their mothers, the decrease of their body weight followed. Presumably, that decrease was due to the stress resulting from the separation. b/ Carcass examination has shown a high slaughter efficiency, namely from 52 to 54 per cent. c/ The time of early offspring separation has no influence on slaughter quantily of the offspring, provided they are fed on full ration frage mixtures.
