Problemy w ocenie podatności traw gazonowych na choroby w warunkach trawnikowych

W latach 1993-1996 oceniano podatność odmian i rodów traw gazonowych na choroby. Ocena polegała na wizualnym szacowaniu powierzchni objętej symptomami choroby lub na określaniu zagęszczenia i wielkości plam na liściach spowodowanych przez patogena, w skali 1-9. Celem pracy było zbadanie na ile wyniki wizualnej oceny wykonanej w kolejnych latach i różnych lokalizacjach doświadczeń trawnikowych są powtarzalne. Analizę przeprowadzono obliczając współczynniki korelacji pomiędzy wynikami uzyskanymi w doświadczeniach. Stwierdzono, że istnieje duża zmienność wyników w latach i doświadczeniach. Brak powtarzalności wyników uzyskano przy ocenie podatności odmian na pleśń śniegową (Microdochium nivale i Typhula incarnata). Zgodność wyników otrzymano przy ocenie podatności na mączniaka prawdziwego (Eiysiphe graminis). Wyniki dla brunatnej plamistości liści (Drechslera poae) były bardziej powtarzalne przy ocenie wykonanej wiosną niż w jesieni. Stwierdzono, że diagnoza choroby i identyfikacja pierwotnego patogena w warunkach trawnikowych jest trudna. Symptomy choroby są często rezultatem kompleksu czynników abiotycznych i działania więcej niż jednego patogena.

Susceptibility of turfgrass cultivars and strains to diseases were evaluated during 1993-1997 in Radzików (central Poland). Disease severity was estimated visually as the percent of turf area with disease symptoms and also including size, frequency and distribution of the spots on grass leaves, using 1 to 9 score. The purpose of this work was to determine to what extent the estimates of cultivars susceptibility recurred in years and locations of experiments. Correlation coefficients among the results of cultivar assessment were calculated and variation of the results in different years and locations was stated. Low repeatability of the results was found in assessment of Lolium perenne susceptibility to snow mould (Microdochium nivale). The positive and significant correlation coefficients were obtained in evaluation of Poa pratensis susceptibility to powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis). The results for leaf spot (Drechslera poae) were more repeatable when the assessment was done in spring than in the autumn. It was found that disease diagnosis and identification of the primary causal agent may be difficult to determine in lawn conditions. The symptoms of disease are often a result of complex abiotic factors and more than one pathogen.
