One way to increase the farmers’ households incomes is rising of non agricultural businesses activities. The development of agricultural business unites, its effect on the budgets of farmers’ families and impact on multifunctional development of rural areas is presented in the paper. It is possible to conclude from the analysis that the non-agricultural activities of farms do not play any important role in shaping the farmers’ households budgets, but the number of farms performing non-agricultural activities have been increased. The farms rising the non agricultural activity has multidimensional character. It causes the agrarian structure polarisation processes, and on the other hand it results in specialisation of business activity. The farms and their holder who have undertook the non agricultural business exclusively will reorganise and specialize their unites, more and more driving away from farming activities. Simultaneously, bigger and well developed economically farms will treat it as an instrument of incomes diversification. Farms pluri-activity is then the important factor of multifunctional development of rural areas in Poland.
