The aim of this work is to describe the interaction between man and car seat. We propose the computation of a virtual parameter called interpenetration, related to the pressures measured in the interface between the back and the backrest. The final goal is to investigate on this relationship to verify the goodness of the model to predict the interface pressure starting from a given seat shape and only anthropometric measurements. For that, we developed a multifactorial methodology in a dedicated experimental protocol to confirm relation between the pressure measured on the backrest-back interface and their surface morphology. The back 3D shape is reconstructed in the driving posture and it is matched with the seat surface calculating their virtual interference and correlating this datum with the local pressure.
