The policy of city revitalisation in Poland up to the year 2023 has been prepared on the basis of analysis of the national strategic planning documents (with special account to National City Policy 2023) and the law of 9 October 2015 concerning revitalisation. The assessment of the national revitalisation policy has been developed with regard to the EU city policy (focusing on reurbanisation) and the 'old' Community institutional, legal and planning solutions concerned with revitalisation. It was emphasised that the concept adopted in Poland is a cohesive city and complex revitalisation of the areas in crisis. The revitalisation actions of the government have been defined in a simplistic way in the NCP 2023 (no differences between cities were regarded and no instruments of revitalisation policy implementation were presented). The law of revitalisation does not regulate the issue of organisation of the process of revitalisation from the domestic funds. There is a necessity to continue the works on the national revitalisation policy with particular emphasis on the actions envisaged after the year 2020.
