U chorych z przewlekłą niewydolnością nerek obserwowane są zaburzenia w gospodarce mineralnej. Spowodowane są one dysfunkcją nerek, stosowaną dietą, lekami, dializoterapią. Płyny dializacyjne wprowadzają do organizmu pierwiastki i je z organizmu usuwają. Celem pracy było oznaczenie zawartości Ca, Mg, Zn i Fe w płynach dializacyjnych przed wejściem i po wyjściu z dializatora. W badanych próbkach płynów dializacyjnych (n = 38) oznaczono stężenie Ca, Mg i Zn metodą spektrometrii absorpcji atomowej, techniką płomieniową (FAAS), natomiast zawartość Fe oznaczono techniką elektrotermicznej atomizacji w piecu grafitowym (GF AAS).Zawartość Ca (66,61 i 66,45 mg/L), Mg (11,86 i 12,68 mg/L), Zn (86,1 i 90,9 µg/L) i Fe (28,2 i 28,9 µg/L) w badanych płynach dializacyjnych przed i po dializatorze nie różniła się w sposób istotny statystycznie. Można przypuszczać, iż podczas dializoterapii nie następują straty istotnych biopierwiastków.

Mineral disturbances are common in patients with chronic renal failure. They are a result of reduced renal function, special diet, used drugs, and dialysis treatment. Dialysis fluids as well can provide some elements into the body as they can remove them. The aim of the work was to determine Ca Mg, Zn, and Fe concentration in dialysis fluids just before and after dialysis treatment. Content of Ca, Mg, and Zn in examined samples of dialysis fluids (n = 38) was measured by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), and trace amounts of Fe were determined using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). Differences between the concentrations of Ca (66,61 vs. 66,45 mg/L), Mg (11,86 vs. 12,68 mg/L), Zn (86,1 vs. 90,9 µg/L), and Fe (28,2 vs. 28,9 µg/L) in the tested dialysis fluids were not statistically significant. Obtained results suggest that there are no losses of important bioelements with dialysis fluids.
