W latach 1996, 1997, 1998 i 2004 przebadano całodobowe diety osób dorosłych pod kątem zawartości żelaza i manganu. Diety zebrano techniką podwójnej porcji a żelazo i mangan oznaczono metodą atomowej spektrometrii absorpcyjnej. Równocześnie oszacowano zawartość tych pierwiastków w dietach na podstawie składu diet opierając się na danych tabelarycznych.

The aim of the paper was to evaluate the iron and manganese intake with daily diets of adults and to verify the compatibility of the results obtained both by the calculation and chemical analysis. The diets were collected using the duplicate portion method in 1996,1997,1998 and 2004 (187 diets). The iron and manganese intake was assessed by the atomic absorption spectrometry method and estimated by calculations on the basis of the quantitative and qualitative composition of diets based on the national food composition tables. The average iron intake in women ranged from 10.3 to 15.6 mg/person/day and in men from 12.3 to 19.6 mg/person/day. The daily manganese intake was 4.2 mg-5.6 mg and 5.1-6.3 mg, respectively. The studies revealed that the iron intake in women's diets should be increased while the level of manganese was found to be sufficient. Moreover, the findings demonstrated good compatibility of the results obtained by calculations and chemical analysis.
