Plectania melastoma (Sowerby) Fuckel jest rzadkim gatunkiem, wymienianym na Czerwonej liście grzybów wielkoowocnikowych w Polsce (Wojewoda, Ławrynowicz 2006). W pracy przedstawiono nowe stanowisko tego gatunku, znalezione w czerwcu 2008 roku, przy drodze między miejscowościami Diament i Łysaków pod Lasem na obszarze Niecki Nidziańskiej. Jest to ósme stanowisko tego grzyba w Polsce

Plectania melastoma (Sowerby) Fuckel is a very rare species in Poland. It was observed only three times, at the beginning and in the 60’s of the 20th century. In total, seven localities of the fungus was known from Poland so far. The species is mentioned in Red list of the macrofungi in Poland (Wojewoda, Ł awr ynowicz 2006). The new locality of Plectania melastoma was found on 19 June 2008, by the road between Diament and Łysaków villages (Świętokrzyskie province, Jędrzejów district; 50°35′54″N, 20°17′01″E; ATPOL EF-02), in the Niecka Nidziańska basin. Five fruitbodies of this species grew on unidentified pieces of wood, at margin of an oak forest
