Opracowano metodę oznaczania toluidyn we krwi i w moczu. W ekspozycjach 6 i 12 miesięcznych wykonanych drogą doustną określono przebieg wchłaniania toluidyn do krwi oraz wydalanie z moczem w zależności od dawki, czasu narażenia oraz rodzaju izomeru. Badano również wpływ toluidyn na zawartość methemoglobiny, zmiany aktywności wybranych enzymów w surowicy krwi oraz zmiany morfologiczne krwi.

The aim of the study was to assess delayed toxic effects of different doses of three toluidyne isomers during prolonged exposure. Female Wistar rats were used in the experiment. Toluidine isomers were added to the food containing 24% of protein. A gas chromatography method for the quantitative determination of toluidines in blood and urine was developed. The effects of dose, exposure duration and compound type on the concentration of the compound in blood, methemoglobin level and urine content of the compound were determined. The hematological parameters and plasma enzyme activities were studied. Within the dose and exposure-duration ranges used in the experiment, o-toluidine proved to be the isomer that reached highest blood and urine concentrations.
