The objective of the studies carried out on 10 pigs was to perform a long-lasting pancreatic duct cannulation by the author’s method enabling a free return flow of pancreatic juice into the duodenum, with a simultaneous sampling of pancreatic juice for examination at any time. The influence of the applied method on the exocrine function of the pancreas was evaluated by examinations of an electrolyte composition of pancreatic juice and acid- -base equilibrium of the blood plasma. Clinical examinations performed during 14 days did not show any symptoms indicative of health disorders. The analyzed parameters and acid-base equilibrium indices during the experiment remained on a stable level approximating physiological standard values.
