The effects of four rates of phosphorus fertilization (0, 60, 120 and 180 kg P205 · haˉ¹) and weather conditions on dry matter (DM), starch and crude protein content of four cultivars of potato tubers (Bronka, Fala, Lawina and Mila), were tested in field experiments. DM and starch content of potatoe tubers were significantly affected by weather conditions and to a lesser extent by fertilization. The highest content of DM and starch was noted in potatoe tubers at 60 kg P2O5 · haˉ¹ fertilizer phosphorus. Increasing rates of fertilizer phosphorus tended to increase crude protein content in potatoe tubers.
