Samples of muscles, liver and kidney from 485 pigs were collected in 98 sampling points. They are analyzed for lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, zine, copper, iron and fluorine. The mean levels of Pb, Cd, Hg, As and F found to be relatively low. Concentrations of mercury and arsenic in analyzed tissues were below 0.01 mg/kg. The mean lead and cadmium levels were in muscles 0.014 and 0.007 mg/kg, in liver respectively 0.102, 0.115 mg/kg and in kidney 0.116, 0.875 mg/kg. Fluorine was detected only in kidney (x = 0.09 mg/kg). Zinc, copper and iron levels were within the range of physiological values. No significant correlation was found between the concentrations of toxic elements in pig tissues and the place of sampling.
