During 5 years of field experiments on the grounds of two carbon waste rock sites the growth and development of Festuca rubra cultivar Nimba was analysed. The experiments were carried out on the hill banks and on the flat area. The ground formed the so-called "difficult site" for plants. The results indicate the high suitability of this cultivar together with mineral fertilising on the ground of post-industrial wastes shortens the initial period of covering of such sites. The biomes obtained within the short time initiates the humus forming processes. This promotes the formation of a new set plants, able to develop without human intervention.
