On radiological examination of 24 052 dogs, urolithiasis was diagnosed in 222 cases (0.92%); in 165 (74.32%) males and in 57 (25.68%) females. Urolithiasis occured most frequently in 5 to 10 years-old animals, and bassets were the most frequently affected (4.76%) among the group of pure breed dogs. In females uroliths were found most often in the urinary bladder in the form of well shadowing objects (phosphate stones). In males tiny stones in the form of gravel or sand were found in the urinary bladder as well as in the urethra. Frequent occurrence of urolithiasis in 1 to 2-years-old dachshunds is worth noting. No significant relationships were found between the localization of uroliths and the breed and age of dogs.
