The efficacy of Ceftiofur (Naxcel, Upjohn) was assessed in case of natural and experimental infections with bacterial or virus-bacterial pathogens. Clinical observations were conducted on 38 calves treated with Ceftiofur following natural infection, 9 calves experimentally infected with IBR/IPV and Pasteurella haemolytica and then treated with Ceftiofur and 8 control calves treated with oxytetracycline (Oxyvet Polfa). The results confirmed that the antybiotic under study was very effective in the treatment of respiratory diseases of calves.
