A review of Australian species of the genus Byrsinus Fieber, 1860 is presented. Byrsinus australis sp. nov. (New South Wales, South Australia), and B. multitrichus sp. nov. (South Australia, Victoria) are described and compared with B. ochraceus (Distant). The latter is redescribed based on the type specimen from Tasmania and other specimens recorded for the first time from New South Wales, Northern Territory, and South Australia. B. setosus J.A. Lis, known previously only from a female specimen from Indonesia (Flores) is recorded for the first time from Australia (Northern Queensland), and its original description is extended with the male characters. A key to all Australo-Pacific species of the genus is also provided.
