Zbadano profil (stężenie i skład) oraz rozmieszczenie przestrzenne tetra-, penta-, heksa-, i heptachloronaftalenów w ciernikach z Zatoki Gdańskiej. Ryby złowiono w 4 miejscach w strefie przybrzeżnej Zatoki Gdańskiej w czerwcu i lipcu 1992 r.

Strickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus specimens collected at four different sites in the nearshore region of the southwestern part of the Gulf of Gdańsk in June and July 1992 were investigated for concentrations and possible differences in the degree and pattern of contamination with poly- chloronaphthalenes (PCNs). The method of PCNs measurement was capillary column (Rtx-5) gas chromatography and high resolution mass spectrometry (HRGC/HRMS) with electron impact (EI) ionization and selective ion recording (SIR). The analyte was extracted and cleaned-up using a nondestructive method via dialysis through a semipermeable polyethylene membrane and further fractionation on activated carbon HPLC column. The concentration of total PCNs in stickleback varied, depending on sampling site, from 780 pg/g to 2900 pg/g wet weight. Stickleback collected near Oksywie and the Northern Port showed different pattern of penta- and hexachloronaphthalenes than specimens from the sampling site near Redłowo or Pleniewo. The differences in the pattern and concentration of chloronaphthalenes observed in stickleback from the examined sites in the nearshore region of the Gulf of Gdańsk seem to indicate certain industrial activities in the area as a potential local sources of pollution with those chemicals.
