The estimation of two grass mixtures growth: at the nitrogen fertilization (120 and 240 kg/ha) and with CaCO₃ (4 t/ha) was applied, was made during 1987-1991 period. One of experiments was performed at Nowa Bystrzyca 630 m elevation a.s.l. and the second one at Spalona on 780 m elevation a.s.l. In both cases soils were brown average class of pH=4, rich in phosphorus and average rich in potassium. On the basis of five years studies we can conclude that on the perennial meadows high give yields species: (Dactylis glomerata L.) and (Poa pratensis L.). Such species as (Festuca pratensis Huds.), (Phleum pratense L.) and (Lolium perenne L.) gave good yields only for first two years after seeding. Strongly competitive species was (Holcus mollis L.), especially in area fertilized with 240 kg N/ha and in mixtures without (Dactylis glomerata L.).
