The purpose of the investigation was to determine the optimal mineral mixture as elaborated on the basis of the trophic system in the relation: soil-plant-animal. The study was carried out by using a mixture that included: phosphate from Bonarka, fodder dolomite, sodium chloride, copper sulphate, manganic chloride, zinc chloride and cobalt chloride. The goats of the Saanen breed were divided into two groups. The control group did not receive any extra mineral mixture. The group under study was given the mixture in the amount of 5 g per day. The blood samples were taken from 15 animals of each group, chosen by the analogue method. The blood was taken seven times during the lactation period of the goats. The levels of Ca, P, Mg, Na, K, Fe, Cu and Zn were determined in the sera. An increase of the level of all the elements was discovered in the examined group, except for К whose amount decreased. That increase indicated that the animals had used up the mixture under study.
