Wizja integracji ze strukturami UE oraz wkraczanie w XXI wiek stawia przed naszym społeczeństwem wysokie wymagania, szczególnie w zakresie poziomu intelektualnego i wiedzy fachowej. Rolnictwo i przemysł żywnościowy, jako strategiczna gałąź gospodarki narodowej muszą ulec istotnym przeobrażeniom w procesie transformacji. Dlatego też jako jeden z najważniejszych problemów postrzega się szybki i skuteczny system edukacji, w którym podstawową rolę powinny spełniać uczelnie rolnicze. Uwzględniając rangę uniwersytecką, wysoki poziom kadry naukowo-dydaktycznej, współpracę międzynarodową, należy oczekiwać zdecydowanych działań tych jednostek naukowych w zintegrowanym systemie edukacyjnym. Niniejszy artykuł jest formą dyskusji nad koniecznością dynamicznego włączenia się uczelni rolniczych w proces zjednoczeniowy z krajami UE tak, aby zachować tożsamość i specyfikę naszego rolnictwa z możliwością wyeksponowania jego walorów i nowych struktur. System zintegrowanej edukacji powinien podwyższyć poziom scholaryzacji w naszym kraju, szczególnie w obszarach wiejskich, a ponadto powinien rozwinąć najbardziej nowoczesną formę edukacji jaką jest kształcenie ustawiczne.

The prospects for the integration with EC structures and entering the century impose high demands on our country in terms of intellectual development and professional expertise. Agriculture and food industry as strategic branches of national economy must undergo fundamental changes in the process of transformation. Therefore fast and effective system of education with agricultural schools at the leading position is perceived as one of the most important issues. Considering university status of agricultural schools highly qualified research and teaching staff international cooperation, agricultural schools are expected to take decisive actions in the integrated system of education. The paper contributes to the discussion about the necessity of active participation of agricultural schools in the process of unification of the European Community in order to maintain the identity and specific nature of our agriculture and bring into prominence its good values and new structures. The system of integrated education should increase the number of educated population and the level of education inb our country, particularly in rural areas and above all promote adult education.
