The investigations were performed to determine the air gas pollutants in the tissues of polar foxes. The caged animals maintained in the pavilion system constituted the control group (20 animals), while the experimental group were constituted by the individuals born in enclosed spaces and transported to the farm after the raising time (12 animals). The chromatographic analyses were made on the samples of lungs, liver, kidneys and perirenal fat of the foxes from both groups. The highest content of gaseous residues was recorded in the fox lung tissue. Methanol, ethanol, benzene, trichloroethanol and acrolein were identified at the highest concentrations. The analysis results showed higher concentrations of most substances in the tissues of the experimental foxes, which may result from a higher concentration of pollutants in the air exhaled.
