The present study discusses the current state of vegetation, humidity conditions and habitat production in the Narew river valley between Żółtki and the Biebrza river-confluence. Moisture meadow sites were identified by using plant indices (phytoindication method) and their productivity by using the method described in the first position of references. Cultivated meadows dominate in the part of the Narew river valley from Żółtki to the Biebrza river-confluence. They occupy almost 62% of the area. The profitable damped grasslands for grasslands farming (periodically too damp and moderation damp) predominate among them and occupy 86% of their area. Less profitable damped grasslands: periodically and long-periodically flooded occupy 14% of grasslands area, overdrained - 4% (tab. 1). The meadows belong to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th valuation class. Most of them are the 3rd class grasslands and the best of them - the 2nd class grasslands - occupy about 794 ha (tab. 2). Prospects of productivity of the characterized grasslands are comparatively high but unsatisfactorily utilized. Their current productivity constitutes 55,7% of potential production abilities. The main reason of existence of high production reserves are agrotechnical negligence and mistakes.
