Badano wpływ białka sojowego i tłuszczów diety na działanie oleju z wiesiołka dziwnego u szczurów doświadczalnych. Oznaczano stężenie cholesterolu całkowitego, HDL cholesterolu, triglicerydów i wolnych kwasów tłuszczowych. Stwierdzono, że na działanie oleju wiesiołkowego miało istotny wpływ tylko białko diety.

The effect of soybean protein and dietary fats on the action of Oenothera paradoxa oil was studied in rats. Male and female Buffalo rats maintained over a period of 4 weeks on four diets: I - low lard (5%), II - high lard (15%), III - low sunflower oil (5%), IV - high sunflower oil (15%) were used in the experiment. Soybean isolate (27%) was used as source of the dietary protein. One half of each experimental group received additionally by gavage Oenothera paradoxa oil (Oeparol® Agro- pharm®, Poland) for 4 weeks. Blood serum total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, trigliceride, free fatty acid, and liver total cholesterol and triglyceride concentration were determined. The quantity and quality of the fats in the diet was not found to affect the action of Oenothera paradoxa oil, while the dietary protein (soybean protein isolate) was found to increase the hypoliphemic action of Oenothera paradoxa oil.
