During the years 1994-1998, field experiments two-factorial were carried out. The influence of the method of inoculating the seeds of the Gala variety of Galega orientalis with the bacterium Rhizobium galegae (and with blue-green algae) on the content of the macroelements in the leaves and stalks, as well as on their ratio, was investigated. The leaves of Galega orientalis contained a higher concentration of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and sulphur than did the stalks. The content of the macroelements differed according to the method by which the seeds were inoculated and the year in which the experiment was carried out, that is, the year in which the Galega orientalis was cultivated. The very low potassium content and the high calcium content resulted in unsuitable ratios of K : (Ca + Mg), (K + Na) : (Ca + Mg), K : Ca with respect to their nutritional value.
