The two years old normal bitch of about 23 kg b.w. was examined in the clinic. The animal was in poor condition, emaciated with a clearly enlarged abdomen. Laparotomy was decided. The exposed tumor was a giant single formation with a smooth surface and irregular shape measuring about 20 X 30 X 15 cm. It was profusely vascularized and merged with surrounding organs. The tumor was ammputated together with uterus, ovaries, spleen, omentum and mesogastrium. In 5 months since the operation no health disorders have been observed. The mass of the extracted conglomerate amounted to 5.05 kg. Histopathological examination proved it to be a mixed tumor (tumor mixtus) with the following elements of a neoplastic character located focally: adenoma, adenocarcinoma, osteochondrosarcoma. The described case of the mixed tumor in the abdominal cavity of the bitch is worthy to note as a pathological rarity and because of the effective surgical treatment of a giant neoplasm taking up a large part of the abdominal cavity.
