The article presents a main role of modern research laboratories in making the results of different processes more durable, more innovative and better quality. It also gives the example of Rapid Prototyping Laboratory which is formed in Industrial Institute of Agricultural Engineering in Poznan and its main aim is to verify innovative products of agricultural techniques. Rapid Prototyping Laboratory enables to solve complex constructional and technological problems of farm machine branch in connection with many research projects and cooperation with SME. The publication presents also many examples of using optical scanner ATOS II in the context of innovative tractor ploughs, its quality, construction and technology. The article illustrates modern prototypes of technical elements obtained by rapid prototyping techniques using the 3D DIMENSION1200esPrinter.
