Celem badań była ocena oraz porównanie preferencji i częstotliwości spożywania mleka i jego przetworów wśród młodzieży i jej matek. Badaną populację stanowiło 449 uczniów w wieku 13-15 lat oraz ich matki z Warszawy i gminy Garwolin. Badanie ankietowe przeprowadzono w czerwcu i wrześniu 2003 roku. Do produktów mlecznych najbardziej lubianych i najczęściej konsumowanych przez badaną młodzież należały mleczne napoje fermentowane owocowe, sery dojrzewające, mleko i serki homogenizowane. Matki wymieniały natomiast sery dojrzewające i twarogowe, mleczne napoje fermentowane owocowe i mleko. Preferencje przetworów mlecznych i częstotliwość ich spożywania były istotnie statystycznie skorelowane w populacji matek, wśród młodzieży, a także w badanych środowiskach zamieszkania. Zaobserwowano różnice w preferencjach i częstotliwości spożywania produktów mlecznych wśród badanej młodzieży i ich matek. Różnice w preferencjach dotyczyły w największym stopniu serów topionych i twarogowych oraz kefiru, natomiast zróżnicowana częstotliwość spożywania występowała w przypadku serów topionych, śmietany i serów twarogowych.

The aim of the study was to evaluate and to compare the preferences and the frequency of eating milk and its products among adolescents and their mothers. The examined population included 499 adolescents aged 13-15 and their mothers living in Warsaw and in Garwolin community. Questionnaire survey was carried out in June and in September 2003. The dairy products preferred the most and the most frequently consumed by adolescents included fruit fermented milk beverages, ripening cheeses, milk and plain homogenous cheeses. Mothers indicated ripening cheeses, plain fresh cheeses, fruit fermented milk beverages and milk. The preferences and frequency of eating milk and its products were correlated statistically significant within mothers' population, adolescents, and within rural and urban population as well. There were observed differences in preferences and frequency of dairy products consumption between adolescents and their mothers. The differences in preferences referred to a great degree to processed cheeses, plain fresh cheeses and kefir, in frequency of consumption to processed cheeses, cream and plain fresh cheeses.
