Celem badań była próba prześledzenia przebiegu yersiniozy u świń od momentu zakażenia do zakończenia siewstwa. Badania przeprowadzono na 15 ośmiotygodniowych prosiętach. Zwierzęta podzielono na trzy równe grupy i zakażono: grupę A - dożylnie, grupę В - dożołądkowo, a grupa С stanowiła grupę kontrolną - niezakażoną. Do zakażenia użyto chorobotwórczego szczepu Yersinia enterocolitica 0:3 biotyp 4. W ciągu 14 tygodni trwania doświadczenia zwierzęta poddawane były obserwacji klinicznej i badaniom laboratoryjnym.

The aim of this study was the observation of pathogenesis of yersiniosis from the moment of infection till the end of excretion of microorganism. The experiment was performed on 15 eight - week - old piglets. The animals were divided into three groups and infected - group A intravenously, group В - intragastrically, group С - the control group was not infected. The pathogenic strain of Yersinia enterocolitica 0:3 biotype was used to the infection. During 14 weeks of the experiment, the animals were clinically observed and laboratory examined. Bacteriological examinations of feaces and immunological study were conducted. After diagnostic slaughtering, bacteriological examinations of internal organ tissue and histopathological and ultrastructural examinations were conducted. It was proved on the bassis of the examinations, that the experimental intragastrical infection of pigs induced stronger reactions than the intravenous infection. Yersinia enterocolitica is a strong antigen which can stimulate both cell and humoral immunity and non-specific cell mechanisms. Lack of correlation between the concentration of specific antibodies and detectability of Y. enterocolitica in faeces of pigs was found.
