Mrs Gabriela MAZUR (de domo ADLERSFELDT; *1885, †1953) and dr. Edward MAZUR (*1881,†1942) between the two World Wars were well-known Cracow coleopterologists. Mrs Gabriela worked on small leaf-beetles (Chrysomelidae: Halticinae), and dr. Edward specialized in ground-beetles (Carabidae, especially genera: Dromius and Bembidion). The MAZURS collection of Coleoptera cover the eastern parts of middle Europe (mainly of present territories of Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine) and includes about 3 thousand species. The most of the collection is housed in the Warsaw Museum and Institute of Zoology, PAS, and partially in the Cracow Natural History Museum of the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals, PAS.
