Rozporządzeniem prezydenta RP z 30 XII 1924 r. została utworzona Dyrekcja Lasów Państwowych, która przejęła administrację i sprawy gospodarki leśnej w Polsce. Obecnie sprawy te reguluje ustawa o państwowym gospodarstwie leśnym z grudnia 1949 r., znowelizowana w 1991 r. Artykuł mówi m.in. o sytuacji lasów w Polsce w przeszłości i obecnie, o roli lasów w środowisku, leśnych kompleksach promocyjnych.

By the ordinance of the President of Poland of 30 December 1924, The Directorship of National Forests was created and it took over the administration of Polish forest industry. Now, the December 1949 Forestry Act, which has been updated in 1991, has replaced the old law. The article talks about the state of Polish forests in the past and at present, as well as the environmental role of forests and forest promotional complexes.
