Trehalase (THA) activity from root nodules of Lupinus polyphyllus was inhibited by ions of heavy metals (Hg2 +), Cu2+) Fe3+) in the following order: Hg2+)Cu2+)Fe3+. Moreover, the presence of magnesium caused only a slight "protective effect" consisting in the decreasing influence of the ions on THA activity.
