Eggs of Toxocara spp. were found in 35.9% of soil samples from various environments such as sandpits, football fields, playgrounds, roads in inhabited areas, entrances to buildings, squares, parks, unhabited and industrial areas, private estates. There were no differences in the degree of contamination between urban and rural environments. Different stages of development were noted in the eggs, from grooves up to fully developed live larva. A high contamination of the environment by eggs of Toxocara spp. poses a threat to human health.
