This thesis concerns properties of post mining areas of Brown Coal Mine Konin and Adamów well as soils which were formed from the parent rock. The productivity of soil cover which was made as a result of exploitation of brown coal depends on the geological structure and anthropo¬genic factor which decides about the selection and applying the reclamation treatments. The quality of soil formed in the reclamation process is higher than the one occurred on this area before the reclamation. The cultivation of plants which require high soil conditions- lucerne, rape, wheat and even sugar beet is possible. Fresh forest habitat replaces the previous forest. This work also undertakes the legal aspects of reclamation.
