The studies were performed on 90 rats of Wistar breed, body weight 200 g (± 12 g). The animals were divided into three groups: group I — the control rats were given Cs-137 and its level was determined in the scapular and femoral muscles, in the tongue and heart after 1, 3 and 7 days; group II — the animals were treated with ferrous ferrocyanide (FF) twice in the first day; group III — the rats were treated with ammonium ferrocyanide (FFA) and tested as the group II. It was found that after the administration of FF and FFA a marked increase of Sc-137 elimination was stated in the muscles especially after the 1st and 3rd day. By comparison of the results FFA appeared to be more effective particularly after the first day which is of importance in respect to the improvement of the slaughter usefulness of animals contaminated with Cs-137.
