The paper contains short review of forest management systems and their effects in mountain forests in different property forms. As an example for analysis one forest object superintend by Nowy Targ forest division was chosen. It has 21 000 ha of total area in which 57,3% represent private owners forests 16,7% represent ground community forests, and 26,0% represent state forests. It was stated that state and ground community forests characterize great similarity between basic stand features, and they are definitively more advantageous than in private owners forests. It affects both accordance of stand composition with forest site, age structure, stand volume and dynamics and quality of forest regeneration as well. The reason is due to enormous private owners forest plot size reduction (mean area 0,29 ha) which doesn't favor of reasonable and perspective forest resources management.
