Introduction: Increasing alcohol consumption by adolescents is a major public health problem. One reason for this is that young people want to solve their difficulties by using alcohol. Therefore, an important aim of the current study is to analyze selected nutrition-related health behaviors which are taken before the planned consumption of alcoholic beverages among young people. Materials and methods: The study group consisted of 77 adolescents from secondary school. The research tool consisted of two parts. The first one analyzed the frequency of selected alcohol consumption, the second - nutrition-related behaviors in adolescents before the planned consumption of alcoholic beverages. Results: The study showed that about 78% of the respondents - regardless of gender - had consumed beer in the past 12 months. The use of restrictive diets was more important for women than for men. However, restrictions on food consumption were very similar in both analyzed groups. Conclusion: Behaviors associated with restrictive diets before the planned consumption of alcohol are the same for both women and men. These behaviors may contribute to the development of eating disorders among adolescents.
