The article presents the relationship between the mechanical properties of soil mixtures used in tourist trail surfaces and their physical properties, such as porosity, grain size heterogeneity index and soil skeleton group index.The studies have shown that the calculated mechanical properties of soil mixtures reflect the numerical values of the empirical data obtained from the studies in the range from 1% to 17%. The article describes only the mechanical properties of three soil mixtures with an optimal degree of granulation at specific physical properties. It should be noted that the obtained theoretical results of the mechanical strength function can be used for pilot tests of the load-bearing capacity of surfaces made of soil mixtures, and can indirectly contribute to minimizing the scope and shortening the time of laboratory and field tests.
