The article deals with the usefulness of selected textural methods in the investigations of slope deposits. Granulometric characteristics of slope deposits in the Częstochowa Upland and the Rawa Plateau has been presented and also their morphoscopic features and a feldspar content have been analysed. In the slope series, the orientation of clasts has been measured. Lithological features of slope deposits have been compared with these of glacial, fluvial and aeolian origin. Textural investigations indicate that the variability of the slope series is dependent on the lithological properties of the bedrock and reflects types of occurring slope processes. Besides, the influence of other processes taking place synchronically with transport of gravity is marked. Creep and wash operated under conditions of varying wind morphogenetic action. The orientation of the long axes of pebbles shows that the most important diagnostic feature of the gravitational genesis of same lithologic types of slope deposits is the clast arrangement parallel to the slope inclination.
