EN

The in vitro examinations of 29 T. vaginalis strains for their sensitivity to Nitrofurantoine showed strong trichomonacidal properties of the drug. A pronounced correlation could be established between the susceptibility of the T. vaginalis strains to Nitrofurantoine, the duration of action of the drug and the density of the suspension used. The trichomonacidal properties of the drug were also confirmed in vivo when treating same cases of trichomonadosis of the urogenital tract in men.
