Abstrakty

The flat bark beetle Cucujus cinnaberinus (SCOPOLI, 1763) is recorded from Las Kabacki nature reserve in Warsaw. This is the second as well as the southernmost locality of the species in Warsaw and the largest nature reserve in Mazovian Lowland at the same time. Tree stand conversion plan established for the reserve between years 2016 and 2036 significantly alters forest age structure and affects local saproxylic communities. Regarding C. cinnaberinus habitat requirements it is suggested to rationalize the conversion plan, therefore logging limitations shall be implemented. Taking into account environmental needs of saproxylobiontic species, both healthy and dead trees shall be left for natural decomposition processes.
