Field experiments were conducted in 2008–2009 on three Salix vinimalis cultivars (Turbo, Kortowska, Start). Observation showed that the selectivity of particular cultivars of Salix vinimalis depended on active ingredients of herbicides especially in the first year of cultivation. The cultivar Kortowska was characterizeted by greated sensibility to used herbicides in comparison to other estimated cultivars. The damage of S. vinimalis cultivars lasted for 4 weeks after herbicide treatment (changes of colour, necrosis, growth retardation). The highest herbicidal effect against of the most dangerous species of weeds was shown with soil applied herbicides: Stomp 330 EC and the mixture of herbicides Guardian 840 EC + Afalon Dyspersyjny 450 SC. One herbicides treatment performed in the first year of cultivation was not efficient enough to protect the the S. vinimalis crops against weeds infestation. Tested herbicides had no adverse effect on the growth and development of plants in the second year of investigations. The yield of S. vinimalis was higher after herbicids treatment as compared to untreated plots in 2008.
