An analysis was made of the reproductive value of Puławska pigs raised on farms in the Lublin region, including estimates of the following: age at first farrowing, length of farrowing interval, number of litters per sow per year, and the unexploited production capacity of pigs, expressed as the number of unproduced piglets per sow per year and per herd per year. The analysis showed that in the last two years the mean number of litters per pig per year decreased with respect to the year 2010. The length of the farrowing interval on the farms analysed ranged from 168 to 225.6 days. On most of the farms, the number of litters per sow per year was less than 2. This is a low value in relation to the average in Poland, and particularly in relation to the average number obtained in countries in which pig breeding is at the highest levels.
