Differential diagnostics of mixed infections with pneumotropic and entrotropic bovine viruses. III. Detection of mixed infections by the immunofluorescence test using different fluorochromes
A method for differential labelling immune antibodies tested in the immunofluorescence (IF) test was devised and the diagnostic value of the method for the early detection of mixed virus infection of the respiratory and digestive systems in cattle was assayed. The assays were carried out with cell microcultures infected with pneumotropic and enterotropic bovine viruses and with field material taken from sick animals. The IF tests with antibodies labelled with different fluorochromes showed that this method may be practically used for the early diagnosis of mixed virus infections in animal population and it is also recommended for studies on the pathogenesis of mixed virus infections of cell microcultures.
