Identification of the problem rural areas in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province was done. The wrocławska taxonomy method was applied. Its basis 6 types of problem areas were selected with regard to amount of problems (monoproblem, doubleproblem, multiproblem) and their quality (concerning economic development, infrastructure and organisation of agriculture). The most frequent were communes with doubleproblem, less frequent were multiproblem and monoproblem. The majority of problems concern economy and infrastructure. The positions of Kujawsko-Pomorskie province, among other regions of Poland, in respect to examined features were presented. Research showed that the Kujawsko-Pomorskie is characterised by average values of features in comparison with the other regions of the country.
