The investigations were carried out in two sheep-folds, the first one with bedding and the second - without. The building construction was the sava but the walls and cover were different. The Investigations included: technological and technical assessment of folds, microclimate measurements, analysis of production results, and influence of maintenance on the beheviour of the animals and on their hooves. On the basis of the obtained results it was observed that all three folds did not provide adequate conditions for the animals in colder periods, what influenced the production results negatively. It was caused by the following factors: design errors, unsuitable materials used in fold building and poor quality of work. Slotted floors made of polyvinil chloride were too slippery, bruttle, and gave unpleasant noise while animals were moving. This kind of floor was not accepted by the sheep.
